The Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative (AWBI) and the Center for Community Progress are receiving $1.7 million from JPMorgan Chase to support equitable development in historically Black neighborhoods in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative is proud to launch the Black Community Wealth Network, a national network positioned to build a broad network of practitioners and supporters committed to the task of building Black community wealth.
Today, the Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative released its landmark report, “Building a Beloved Economy: A Baseline and Framework for Building Black Wealth in Atlanta,” at its inaugural policy luncheon forum, Beloved Economies: Shaping Policy to Build Black Wealth. The report proposes a new framework for understanding and confronting the massive racial wealth divide and its impact on Black Atlantans. The report also provides an overview of the state of Black wealth, poverty, income, debt, access to capital, housing, business ownership, and jobs in Atlanta.
Today, the Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative announces our partnership with Executive Financial Partners to develop a program to build the capital readiness and business operations expertise of Black businesses and Business-Serving Organizations (BSOs).
The podcast’s second episode includes a conversation on the concept of Black wealth and its significance for the Black community.

The Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative (AWBI) is pleased to announce its partnership with IBEX IT Business Experts (IBEX). Beginning in September 2023, AWBI and IBEX will work with business-serving organizations over the course of a year. This effort is structured to bolster the procurement training capacity of business-serving organizations in the Atlanta region.
