Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative Announces Partnership with IBEX IT Business Experts to Bolster Atlanta’s Black Businesses
AWBI is supporting business-serving organizations to increase access to procurement opportunities for Black businesses

ATLANTA—The Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative (AWBI) is pleased to announce its partnership with IBEX IT Business Experts (IBEX). Beginning in September 2023, AWBI and IBEX will work with business-serving organizations over the course of a year. This effort is structured to bolster the procurement training capacity of business-serving organizations in the Atlanta region.
“We are pleased to announce this key partnership with IBEX IT Business Experts, and it’s quite timely as we promote Black Business Month,” said Dr. Janelle Williams, CEO and Co-Founder of the Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative. “Atlanta continues to see a surge in Black businesses, it’s our collective responsibility to support a sustainable ecosystem so Black businesses can thrive.” Due to enduring systemic barriers to social and financial capital, Black-owned businesses, on average, have a much smaller net worth than White-owned businesses. We’re excited to work with IBEX to support business-serving organizations and ultimately bolster collective outcomes for Black businesses to help them scale in our economy.”
This program will integrate into our existing 1,000 Black Businesses Campaign, that supports 1,000 Black-owned businesses to hire employees and increase living wages for current staff.
